Our Commitment
Lab42 is built on a simple principle: your files are yours. We designed this tool so that the maximum amount of processing happens directly in your browser, without your documents ever leaving your device.
What We Do NOT Collect

How the Tools Work
Client-side tools (fully private)
The following tools process your PDF entirely inside your browser using pdf-lib and WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device:
- • Merge PDF
- • Delete Pages
- • Extract Pages
- • Watermark
Server-side tools (temporary upload)
The following tools require brief server-side processing due to technical limitations of browser environments:
- • Compress PDF (uses Ghostscript)
- • Protect PDF (uses qpdf)
- • Unlock PDF (uses qpdf)
For these tools, your file is uploaded over HTTPS, processed, returned to you, and automatically deleted within 1 hour. We do not read, analyze, or retain the content of your files.
Language Preference
We store only your language preference (EN or PT) in your browser's localStorage. No cookies are used. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
Analytics & Advertising
Lab42 may display discreet, non-intrusive advertisements to support free access to the service. We do not use tracking cookies for personalized advertising. Future analytics, if any, will use privacy-preserving methods (e.g. aggregate page views without personal identifiers).
